Pencil, Marker & ink sketches
Happy accidents! If you ever used markers, you noticed how it bleeds through the back pages... I used that bleed and blotches to make these sketches. One is of wolverine...studies I am doing on him for a future painting and another one of Dee, doing what Dee does... I can hear her say.. "that doesn't loook like me and what is THAT i am shooting?!?"

Ella Bella!
I made this control art for Alena to sculpt a maquette. It started when she mentioned to me that Diana wanted a sculpt of an Ella sketch I made a while ago. So it got me thinking and I wanted to do one more suited. This is very much inspired by JC Leyendecker. I have to make some fixes before I start using it to paint and before Alena can use it to sculpt with. But here it is as is!

Oil Sketch 6... Mono-Chromatic Oil painting!

Thumbnail value sketch
My dearest and uber-talented friend Diana, unintentionally inspired me. I tried something different this time. I picked up some great advice and tips from a good friend and great artist, Vincent Nguyen and by watching a painting demo from Jon Foster. Its a mono-chromatic piece, but I don't have a great camera, so the colors and values aren't represented well in these photos.... poo!

Oil Sketch 5!

A few hours work... This is my fifth oil sketch and its been up and down. I made a huge jump from the first to the second, but went a step down with the 3rd, and then a slight improvement with the 4th, but I felt pretty good about this one. If anyone wants to know how I am teaching myself to paint... I have been looking at the videos of Bob Kato and those of Marc Behm on youtube. I highly recommend both...

Wanted to sketch something beautiful! Digi Painting 6

Another painting in Photoshop, I took a different approach this time... did all the work in PS.. i usually scan a sketch... but I decided to do it all in Photoshop. This is based off a real person. so I did quite a lot of drawing to get it right... It ended up becoming something photoreal, which I just didn't feel... so I started over and just drew until I got this... it just feels like the person to me.
